Maya was a female Snowy Owl was was rescued from cruelty.
She had a badly damaged right wing which we found to be dislocated (by previous ownwer) and it was left causing the joint to calcify.
However we didnt know just how much pain Maya was in until a veterinary exam determined that the wing was broken.
The wing had to be amputated. Maya was fine thorugh the procedure until when in recovery, she stopped breathing. Our vet tried in vain for 45 mins to revive her. Maya died peacefully and finally not in anymore pain.
Rest in peace big girl.

Hey maya, Snoopy passed away last week So i hope you have found him. He never woke up from the anaestetic and now hes free from pain like you. sleep tight hooters! xx

Your boyfriend Snoopy is very lonely still, I promised him i will find him an aviary friend.

God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working paws to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us;
